Connecting with Community: Artists Responding to Artists

  • Montclair Art Museum 3 South Mountain Avenue Montclair, NJ, 07042 United States (map)

Join us for this lively and inspiring presentation and conversation organized by Aging in Montclair featuring six local senior artists responding to MAM’s current exhibition Family, Community, Belonging: Works from the Collection through their own artwork. Participating artists include Ellen Denuto, Ann Harson, Robin Holder, Cassandra Martin, Bob Rodriguez, and Harvey Soss presenting their work in mediums of visual art, theater, music and poetry.

Through a variety of historic, modern, and contemporary works in MAM’s permanent collection, Family, Community, Belonging: Works from the Collection explores evolving concepts of family and community in relation to themes of belonging, diversity, and inclusion, bringing in to focus the common experiences shared across lines of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, and region. The exhibition is curated by Gail Stavitsky, Ph.D, Chief Curator, Montclair Art Museum.

Admission to the galleries is included with registration.
